Allergy

An allergy refers to an exaggerated reaction by our immune system in response to bodily contact with certain foreign substances.

Allergic people bodies recognize the foreign substance and one part of the immune system is turned on. Allergy-producing substances are called "allergens."


Examples of allergens include: -

Pollens, dust mite, molds, danders, foods specially eggs, fish, prawn, pine apple or any foods, metals: - of wrist watch, ornaments. Hair protein of cat, dog. Leather goods: - coat, shoes, belt of wrist watch cosmetics, creams, perfumes medication, drugs: - esp. penicillin


Symptoms:-

Symptoms differs according to allergens.

Allergic rhinitis, hay fever, irritation of the nose, sneezing, itching, redness of the eyes.

Inhaled allergens can also lead to asthmatic symptoms, caused by narrowing of the airways, shortness of breath, coughing and wheezing.

Symptoms of food allergy include vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain, itchy and swelling of skin.
